"What Juneteenth Means to Me" – A Story of Culture, Community, and Change
In honor of Juneteenth, I led the production of a powerful storytelling piece for the City of Manhattan Beach, highlighting the mission and impact of Culture Club Southbay at the historic Bruce’s Beach. This project captured the voices and experiences of trailblazers working to break barriers, expand opportunities, and enhance beach accessibility and sports mentorship for children ages 8-13.
From concept to execution, I played a key role in shaping the narrative. I crafted thoughtful interview questions, directed the recording process, and handled all aspects of editing—both video and audio—to bring the story to life. Through intentional storytelling and compelling visuals, this project not only honored Juneteenth but also amplified the importance of cultural preservation, equity, and inclusion in Manhattan Beach.
